Nobody drives my van, but me!

A-Team van

With word that the A-Team movie has begun filming AND that they’ve decided to use a proper 1983 GMC in the movie, we’ve gone a little A-Team crazy round these parts, trawling the tubes for photos of the van’s motif applied to other vehicles, just as we did with the General Lee motif – twice! Got any A-Team knockoffs you wanna share? Let us know in the comments.

Nice Price Or Crack Pipe: The $5000 Skoda Octavia Wagon? [Nice Price Or Crack Pipe]

What's a reasonable price for a cool old car? Our readers are cold-eyed realists, or maybe you're all just plain cheapskates, and the last Nice Price vehicle was the 1979 Dodge Shag Van.

Today we're going to consider a car that's been generating tips for about a year now; the seller just won't give up, and we've lost count of the number of times readers have tipped us on it. It's an undeniably awesome machine: a Czech station wagon! It's in very nice condition and includes all the original manuals, keys, the works. The seller had it priced much higher for quite a while, but now the price has come down to $5,000 (Bring A Trailer has done a good job of tracking this car's asking prices since it's been on sale). It costs about $2,000 to get a car shipped over from the Czech Republic- I know, because I'm considering doing so myself- and you could probably get a nice Octavia Combi over there for a couple grand… but this one is already DMV-approved and its papers are in order, thus enabling you to avoid an intensely Czech experience during the registration process. What do you think?

Commer Cob Down On The Punta Arenas, Chile, Street [Down On The Street Bonus Edition]

Ever heard of the Commer Cob? British truck builder Commer based it on the Hillman Husky, and this solid example is still alive in Chile. Punta Arenas-based Pulloa got some shots for our enjoyment.

Pulloa, who also brought us the Punta Arenas Peugeot 404, has this to say about his find:

What I've got here, is a (to me) a very rare car. Its a Commer Cob. As I am fairly young , before this, (and a previous encounter, where I took pictures with my cellphone, but they were crap, so I never sent them) I have never seen this car before. After my first encounter with this unknown car, I told my father about it, and he told me that Commers were very common in my city a few decades ago, but there have totally disappeared. I found this example in a parking lot in my city, Punta Arenas, Chile.

I searched wikipedia for more info about the brand and the model. What I got is that Commer was a "British manufacturer of commercial vehicles which existed from 1905 until 1979" and that "The Commer brand was exported widely, with examples, albeit collectors' vehicles, still running far from the UK manufacturing base". Just like this case.

The Cob, was a small delivery van based upon the Hillman Husky. If you search pictures of it, you'll notice the similarities. Strangely, the Cob was, as I said before, the delivery van version of the Husky, so the majority of the photos I found in Google show versions with no rear windows.

As you can see in the pictures, is in pretty good state, mostly because, i believe, it's not used as a daily driver, probably used more like a weekend car. Nevertheless, I think it's a pretty cool car, in very good shape.

C6 Corvette Z06 Wrecked Into Swamp

Another American legend has been lost to the likes of the Florida wooly swamps often cited in Charlie Daniels slices of Americana tradition. It is unknown what caused the Corvette to become saturated with the likes of muck, gunk, and swamp thing excrement. Maybe a skunk ape jumped out in front of it? Maybe the creature from the black lagoon committed grand theft auto? We don’t know for sure, but we do know the outcome.

Florida roads are very dark, even with the best headlights money can afford. With the stock Corvette setup, it’s possible it still could not effectively light the path of the Z06 due to its low lamp height. There is a reason off road vehicles in Florida have auxiliary lighting! Most people want to accuse the owner of horse play, but the fact is that Florida roads are well known to have inadequate signage, low lighting, and random curves that only locals can avoid.
